Executive Assistant and Community Organizer
Kadja Manuel is a proud Trenton, New Jersey native and serves as the Executive Assistant and Community Organizer to Garden State Equality. Prior to joining Garden State Equality, Kadja served as the Vice President of Student Veterans of America (SVA) located in Staten Island, NY. Prior to working at SVA, he served as the Chief of Staff at Scottish American Insurance General Agency Inc where he advised the Chief of Staff and CEO on policies ensuring that the practices of the company are in accordance with local, state, and federal guidelines and regulations. Kadja is also a contributing news editor to OUT-In-Jersey Magazine where he covers the interests of the LGBT+ community of New Jersey its surrounding areas. His work reaches over 16,000 readers and is available in 225+ locations.
Kadja also served in the U.S. Army for 6 years with a Military Occupational Specialty of a Human Resources Specialist where he has held the titles of Public Affairs Officer, Human Resources Officer, and Executive Administrative Supervisor. Kadja has been involved with the LGBTQ Rights movement since 2013 and has been a part of several community events and panels worldwide to shed light on the experiences of LGBTQ People of Color. Kadja’s passion is to help improve the lives and circumstances of marginalized communities to include, but not limited to, the African American, Latinx, LGBTQ, and Developmental Disability communities. Kadja is a Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) New Jersey Member-at-Large, a member of Mercer County Young Democrats, Progressive Democrats of New Jersey, and a New Leader’s Council Fellow. Kadja was also elected to serve as the 3rd Vice President of the Trenton Branch NAACP where he also Chairs the Armed Services & Veteran Affairs Committee, and LGBTQ Committee.
