Winter Clothing Drive for Homeless LGBTQ Youth

Garden State Equality is teaming up with The RAIN Foundation, Majority Leader Greenwald, and Assemblywoman Lampitt to launch our first-ever Winter Clothing Drive to support LGBTQ youth experiencing homelessness.

Across the nation and in New Jersey, LGBTQ youth disproportionately experience homelessness. In fact, over 40% of all youth experiencing homelessness identify as LGBTQ, and tragically, family rejection is the most commonly cited reason. In spite of this great need, New Jersey has only a single homeless shelter serving LGBTQ youth: The RAIN Foundation.

One of Garden State Equality's major priorities in 2020 is to secure statewide funding to support LGBTQ youth experiencing homelessness, but right now, you can help us make a difference by making a contribution to our Winter Clothing Drive where all of your donations will go directly to youth that the RAIN Foundation is helping every single day.

We will be collecting donations until January 31, 2020 at drop-off locations listed below and at our Home for the Holidays Party on December 20, but we encourage you to support The RAIN Foundation year-round.
