Join Garden State Equality and trans activists Hannah Simpson and Charlie Leppert for an informal pizza lunch, followed by a performance of Pippin at their old high school theatre. Meet other North Jersey trans youth, and hear about what it's like to speak out about being trans. Stay to explore the opportunities that await you in high school and beyond; nothing is off limits as a trans kid. This will be the first in a series of arts, cultural, and advocacy-training meet-ups for trans youth and families (siblings welcomed!) that will be held up and down New Jersey.
Pippin is a Broadway-style musical with live singing, dancing, and a pit orchestra, that explores the coming-of-age of Pippin, the adolescent son and prince of King Charlemagne. Calling his life a circus would be an understatement. This high school production runs under 3hrs including an intermission, and is suitable for at least ages 7 and up.
Pizza courtesy of Garden State Equality! Show tickets (purchased from the high school) are $17 for adults, $5 for kids. Reach out to GSE if your family needs additional assistance to participate fully.
