WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 25 AT 5:00 PM: Lambda Legal's and Garden State Equality's post-decision news conference with the plaintiff couples. Episcopal Diocese of Newark, 31 Mulberry Street, Newark. The plaintiff couples and the lawyers will be there. Garden State Equality will unveil a sweeping grassroots and political plan a year in the making -- if a victory, to protect the decision from a state constitutional ban; if a loss, to pass a marriage-equality statute in the state legislature within two session.

WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 25 AT 7:00 PM: Garden State Equality's big statewide rally featuring same-sex couples from every county in New Jersey. Unitarian Church of Montclair, 67 Church Street, downtown Montclair.

THURSDAY, OCTOBER 26 AT 7:00 PM: Garden State Equality and three legal organizations present a telephone town meeting on the legal impact of the Supreme Court decision. Dial 1-800-566-8440, then enter code 479740. With lawyers from Garden State Equality, Lambda Legal, the ACLU of New Jersey, and the LGBTI Rights Committee of the New Jersey Bar Association.

MONDAY, OCTOBER 30 AT 7:00 PM: Garden State Equality's post-decision rally in South Jersey. Trinity Episcopal Church, 207 West Main Street, Moorestown.

 
Garden State Equality Corporate and Professional Caucus Dinner.  Wednesday, November 1, 2006 at 6:00 pm, East Brunswick Hilton, Three Tower Center Boulevard.  Speaking will be Walter Schubert, the first openly gay member of the New York Stock Exchange and the founder of the Gay Financial Network.  Dinner free of charge.

 

 

Garden State Equality's Sunday brunch honoring New Jersey's PFLAG chapters and our families and friends.  Sunday, November 5, 2006 at 1:30 pm, East Brunswick Hilton, Three Tower Center Boulevard.  Speaking will be The Rt. Rev. John Palmer Croneberger, Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Newark.  Bishop Croneberger, two of whose children are gay, is one of America's leading champions of marriage equality and all LGBTI civil rights.  He'll receive Garden State Equality's Visionary Award.  Brunch free of charge.

 

GRAANJ and Garden State Equality’s Walk for Transgender Remembrance and Equality.  Thursday, November 16, 2006 at 7:00 pm.  Starting point:  First Congregation Church, United Church of Christ, 40 South Fullerton Street, Montclair.  Also participating along the route:  Bnai Keshet Reconstructionist Synagogue and the Unitarian Church of Montclair.  

 

Garden State Equality Catholics for Marriage Equality Caucus brunch.  Saturday, November 18, 2006 at 12:00 noon, a home in Red Bank, New Jersey.  Brunch free of charge. 

 

Garden State Equality African American Caucus dinner. Tuesday, November 21, 2006 at 6:00 pm, Maize Restaurant, 50 Park Place, Newark. A working dinner in which the community will talk about issues with some of the top decision makers in the state, including Assembly Speaker Pro Tem Wilfredo Caraballo (D-Newark), Newark City Councilman Ron Rice Jr., and Governor Corzine's deputy chief of staff Jeannine LaRue. Dinner free of charge.
