Our love, prayers and help in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy

Garden State Equality is a family, and together we can get through anything.   That’s the message in a video I recorded today on behalf of everyone on our Board of Directors and across our entire organization, offering each of you our love, our prayers and our help:

We mean it.   If you need Garden State Equality’s help, please call me on my cell phone, at (917) 449-8918.   We will send a Garden State Equality member near you to come by.   So many of our members, many of whom have never even met, have rushed to help one another already – as was also the case last year during Hurricane Irene.

And please remember, dear friends, to check up often on the seniors, youth and differently abled in your life.  Offer to refill and pick up their medications and to buy them any other necessities.   Please remember to call 911 only in the case of a life-threatening emergency, as first-responders are overloaded.  And remember not to drive on, walk near, or obviously touch, downed telephone or other electrical wires, as they might be live and kill you.   Especially warn your kids about that.

We love you, dear members.   Your lives are our concern.
